The firm traces its roots in Tampa to John B. Sutton (after whom Port Sutton is named) and the early firm of Kelly, Sutton & Shaw, founded circa 1925. The long and storied history of the firm since that time reflects the evolution of the legal profession in Tampa and west central Florida, in which the firm has played, and continues to play, a prominent role.
