Misty C. Leafers was born in Louisville, Kentucky.  Ms. Leafers received her undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Louisville.  She graduated from both programs with honors.  While in law school, Ms. Leafers was a member of the Brandeis Law Journal editorial board and an executive officer of the Student Bar Association.

Ms. Leafers is admitted to practice in Kentucky (1999), Florida (2000), and California (2003).  She is also admitted to practice before the Bar of the U.S. District Court, Middle District of Florida, Northern District of Florida, Southern District of Florida, the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, and various U.S. District Courts in California and Kentucky.

Ms. Leafers has experience in a variety of civil litigation matters, including complex commercial litigation, professional liability litigation, real estate litigation, labor and employment litigation, and construction litigation.

In addition to her extensive litigation experience, Ms. Leafers also served as president of a professional liability claims administration company located in San Diego, California.
