Marian P. McCulloch is a graduate of the University of South Florida (B.A. 1976) and of Stetson University College of Law (J.D. 1979), where she served as a member of the Stetson Law Review and as Editor of the Stetson Prelude (1978-79). She was admitted to practice in Florida in 1980 and enjoys an AV from Martindale-Hubbell.
Ms. McCulloch is Board Certified in Marital & Family Law by The Florida Bar Board of Legal Specialization and Education, and confines her practice exclusively to marital and family law matters including dissolution of marriage litigation and negotiation, mediation, child custody and visitation, and paternity actions. She works as a collaborative attorney in divorce matters and serves as a mediator for other attorneys.
Ms. McCulloch was President of the Hillsborough County Bar Association in 2003-2004, and served on its board 1995-2005. She was the recipient of the Red McEwen Award for outstanding support in 1999 and again in 2002. She served as Editor-in-Chief of the Lawyer Magazine (1999-2003 and 2004-2007). She is the Past-Chair (2000-2001) of the Marital & Family Law Section of the Hillsborough County Bar Association and also served as President of the Hillsborough Association for Women Lawyers (1992-93) and on the Board of Directors and as an officer (1986-95).
Ms. McCulloch is a founding member and Master of the Family Law Inn of Tampa, American Inns of Court, previously serving as Secretary of the Executive Council, 1995-2000. She is a member and co-chair of the Collaborative Divorce Lawyers of Tampa Bay. She has been named as one of Florida Trend’s Florida Legal Elite in the area of Marital & Family Law in 2004, 2005 and 2006 and is named as a Super Lawyer in Florida Super Lawyers in 2006, 2007 and 2008. Marian has been selected by her peers for inclusion in the 25th anniversary edition of The Best Lawyers in America in the specialty of Family Law.
Ms. McCulloch has served on the Florida Bar’s Marital & Family Law Certification Committee and on its Certification Grade Review Panel in 2006. She served on The Florida Bar’s Unauthorized Practice of Law (UPL) Committee (1991-96) and on the Thirteenth Circuit Fee Arbitration Committee (1994-97). At the local level, she has served on many committees, including chairing the Hillsborough County Bar Association’s Long Range Planning Committee (1997-98) and its Gender, Racial and Ethnic Bias Committee (1992-94).
Ms. McCulloch has appeared as a speaker or moderator at numerous legal education courses and served as a workshop leader at The Florida Bar Matrimonial Trial Advocacy Seminars (1998, 2000, 2003, 2005 and 2007).
Ms. McCulloch’s community involvement has been extensive. She is a member of the St. John’s Episcopal Church where she serves as a facilitator for the grief group, Walking the Mourner’s Path. She has acted for more than a decade in the “Law Follies” and as an actor/director in the local “Back Porch Players”.
